Prëmetta

The Premetta grapes originate a very particular wine: it is a true natural rosé.

Native Valdostan variety, also known by the "vignerons" as Prié rouge, its area of cultivation is not very large: extends from Aosta in Avise, on the right and left slope of the Dora Baltea, at an altitude of approximately 750 meters, often in association with another variety.

This is disseminated especially in the old vineyards of Saint-Pierre and Aymavilles, but specialized cultivated vinestocks exist.

This is the basic grape of the Aosta Valley Premetta DOC and contributes to the production of other Aosta Valley DOC red wines.

The Premetta grapes originate a very particular wine: it is a true natural rosé and is obtained from fermentation in macerated skins for several days. It matches well with various local first courses: the Vapelenentse, the Seupetta di Cogne and other soups with vegetables and Fontina.
