The Gamay is a local red grape variety of the area of the Beaujolais in Burgundy also disseminated in the Aosta Valley, thanks to its productivity and resistance.

The bunches are small to medium with conical shape and grapes tending to the ellipsoidal.

This is the basic grape of the Aosta Valley DOC Gamay. It is a well-balanced wine with a pleasant fragrance. Used with every type of food, with local cold cuts, stews and soups. Excellent with bistecca alla valdostana (Valdostan-style steak.)
