The vineyards of Gerbelle Didier

The Gerbelle Didier farm began in 2006. Although the business was recently established, this is the fourth generation occupying itself with wines and viticulture.

Initially the agricultural activity was based on self-consumption and thus there was no particular interest for a specific sector. With the passage of time the field of wine growing has received increasing interest and in 1957, a significant year, approximately a hectare of land was purchased that was added to the previous property. In the early nineties, another equivalent section was purchased, leading to the current two hectares of cultivation.

The current owner Didier, on the strength of an ancient passion dedicated a great deal of his time and studies to the sector and received his diploma as a wine technician from the Alba oenology school in 2006. In the same year, the first bottles were produced, but the forecast is to reach 15000 in the year 2010.

The promotion of the native vineyards was always the main objective of the business. Stock of Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer were thus bedded in order to offer the consumer both white and red wines. In the panorama of the red berried vinestocks, after the abandonment of the Pinot Noir broadly cultivated before, nearly the entire surface hosts indigenous stock such as the Petit Rouge, the Broblanc (biotype site of the Cornalin), Fumin and Premetta.
